Fashion Police: Viri Premiere

Hey loves,
Last weekend was a very exciting one in the Cameroon film industry with the premiere of the newly released movie VIRI. The premiere took place in Douala, and everyone, who is anyone in the film industry was there. However, I must apologize for the poor quality of some of the pictures ,as there was no official photographer for the red carpet and NO!!! official pictures have been release. These are the few pictures i could find on Facebook.

First, Power House couple, Penjo Baba and Julia Gham . They were by far the BEST DRESSED of the night. I can't even emphasis how GREAT they look together. Penjo looks great in this gray suit, love how he stayed with a white, black and gray theme. 5 thumbs up. and Julia, damn!! that peplum maxi dress is EVERYTHING!!!. Can all the other Cameroon female artists learn from her? She knows her body type and this dress just flatters it. Head - Toe, she looks FLAWLESS!!!

L- R: Penjo, Arnette Ngafor( designer - Liiber London), Julia and Desmond Wyte. Ok so Arnette dressed in a black bodycon dress and a black quitted leather jacket which I love. Very simple and chic. She looks a little under dressed for a red carpet event but she looks lovely either way. Now, Desmond, hmmm i don't know where to start with this outfit oo. If he was trying to dress according to his role in VIRI then he #nailed it. If he wasn't, then he really needs to burn that shirt, and the cap needs to go too. So sorry to say this, I like you as a person but this outfit is a huge fail, you look like a farmer. *No kill me abeg, I am just being honest*. #MyOpinion

L-R: Samson Tarh and my very very beautiful friend Rita Anam. Samson looks very lovely in his purple "Afritude'. Perfection. He can definitely pass for the BEST DRESSED MALE of the night. Ok now Rita, Darling you know i love you, I really do but this dress is just wrong on all levels. It does nothing for you at all. it makes you look fat. you are a very curvy girl and you always look lovely in bodycon dresses but this one was a HUGE FAIL. The fitting is totally off like the dress wasn't sewn for you. I love the idea you were going with but the dress was a miss. The clutch is very lovely though. And I love you all the same.

Far Right, Synthia Emade. I totally love her look, hair is one point, dress is gorgeous. She totally looks stunning. I have just two little things to say, i am not crazy about the material of the dress or the colour of the shoes but that's just me. She definitely looks great. Thumbs up!!!.

Actress Kelly Azia, she always has the lovelies red carpet dress and her dresses never disappoints like NEVER. this orange maxi dress by Mareta West ( formerly known as Afroshic Clothing) is everything. Very very flattering and it looks great on her. However i wish she had worn her hair up, worn a different shoes and better make up. but over all she looks VERY VERY CHIC. Thumbs up, gurl. I need that clutch by the way, #killer.

Actor and Producer Arthur Iyok looks lovely in a black tee, black pants and white blazer. He looks very clean, chic and fresh. Definitely killed that look minus the funny face on the Tee. lol.

Far Right: West Don, Apart from that funny tie, I actually don't mind the outfit. A white shirt could have been better but all the same his outfit is not really the problem. it's the hair and the glasses. I don't even know what to say but that hair makes him look very shabby and who wears dark glasses at night and in a building?

Last but definitely not the least, Fonachi Stephanie, when I saw the front of this dress by Liiber London, i was like woow, very simple and chic, and then I saw the back and i was like ok!!!!. I am a huge fan of illusion dresses and i love the two colors used however i wish the colour at the back was showing a little at the front like this dress HERE. however she looks stunning and those pumps are very cute.

Overall, I will say our Cameroonian Celebs are improving in their fashion and red carpet looks. What do you guys think? did they kill it or not?

  2. as much as our camer ''celebs'' are trying very hard to meet up with their counterparts from far and near, they still got a looooooooooooong way to go as far as red carpet fab is concerned. the only two worth their salt in this near-mess are Julia Gham and Arthur Iyok

    1. Lmao, you just killed me. Thanks for your input but you must understand that i am trying to be a fashion crtic but trying to to be mean. there is a thin line between critizing and being mean and i am not trying to cross it. i actually love you opinion however i readily do love Synthia's hair. it looks good on her and it's ok for the red carpet but i agree on the shoes and everything else. more fashion police is on the way tho. thanks again hun

  6. Humans regard as foolishness what is beyond their understanding. You clearly criticised the only person whose dressing you did not comprehend, or have never seen before. If Pharell or some other world star dresses like this, you will be drowning in amazement. Now that it is someone lower than them, you criticize him. You hypocritical bastard...

    1. Exactly!!! as i said it's my opinion. i didn't comprehend it and it didn't like it. PERIOD!!! you are free to have your own opinion. I can see you are very on aware about what goes on beyond your nose. Pharell had a lot of criticism about his outfit. i personally don't like most of his outfit. you are entitled to your opinion but don't you ever come to me blog and insult me. you don't even know the meaning of bastard #smh.

    2. anonymous 28th march 10:06 you are the hypocritical bastard for placing your fellow Cameroonians lower than pharell....like u said in ur own words.. " If Pharell or some other world star dresses like this, you will be drowning in amazement. Now that it is someone lower than them, you criticize him".....
If it was comments from the ladies of fashion police on E! TV, you will not criticize them, but because it is Alison, you can criticize her...you hypocritical bastard yourself!!....Alison, we got your back girl!!....lol

  7. Muke ur post was ok but just to be professional, avoid using critics like "u look fat in that dress". U can say things like "it doesn't fit u right, or doesn't bring out ur personality or doesn't portray ur curvy figure. I know it is your opinion but i also think because it is for public consumption, some level of professionalism would be helpful

    1. Thanks for your advice hun. Ya, you are totally right about my use of certain critics. But just to be clear i said "the dress makes her look fat", NOT "she looks fat in that dress". there is a different. As I said Rita is a very beautiful girl and she is NOTTT FAT!!!. However, when we wear certain dresses esply oversize dress, they make us "LOOK" fat. it happens to me too. and i think everyone can agree on that. it has nothing to do with her personality and i also said the fit wasn't right and bodycon dresses will better suit her. However, your advice has been taken note of, i understand that some people might misunderstand my words. so i will refrain from using such words. Thanks again. and apologies to anyone i offended.

  10. Dressing is an art and not everyone is up to the task of touching the target without good counseling. It's always advisable to copy well and not just copy because what fits Tom might not necessarily fit Jerry.Anyway it's nice to see Camer peeps doing some real stuff and we're looking forward for more to follow.KUDOS for the blog and keep up! 11. Love the idea.At least it would help our Camer celebs be more conscious in future. And people should not take offense when criticized. Being in the public eye comes with all the pros and cons.

  14. One thing most ignorant people commenting here think is celebs should dress for a movie premiere as if it is an oscar.A movie premiere is not supposed to be over dressed. It should be chic and simple not over the top and the celebs are suppose to wear something that actually fits their body types and that they feel comfortable in.Everyone has his or her fashion sense but fashion is all about creativity and different styles and as long as it fits the individuals body type it's a yes.Looking at Fonachi Stephanie ,she looks great and she nailed it.Less is always more.Right dress for her body type, the shoe is simple and chic (not different from low louboutin heels ,so its so red carpet Mr/Mrs Anonymous28 March 2014 05:44.dat is if you actually know fashion and brands) the hair is perfect and make up is perfect. As for Desmond White,he has a great body and the dress is actually a fashion risk he took, that shows he experiments with fashion and its a good thing. As for the power house couple ,they looked great but maybe over dressed for a small screening premiere. They looked like it was an award night.People should know how to dress for different events and YES Cameroon is not at that level yet and they will get there.I wonder if most of you have actually ever taken time to see how must of this Hollywood Stars or Nollywood stars you actually refer to started out on the red carpet. At least they tried and they will definitely get there.I totally encourage this step Alison but in the future try not to be too personal with wors and also be diplomatic in your choices of words for description. This is a great concept overall.
